The second pattern stands out with its larger size, fluffiness, and high realism. Unlike the first bat, this one has delicate claws instead of paws, giving the plush a lively and expressive look.

The wire frame in the wings allows you to pose the bat naturally and dynamically. The stuffing is chosen to maintain shape and provide a pleasant touch. The eyes are made from glass or black beads.

3. Miniature Bat Plush

The third pattern is miniature but no less expressive. It’s made from short-pile faux fur, which makes the toy neat and pleasant to the touch.

There are two options for creating the head — you can sew it or needle-felt it from wool.

The wire frame in the wings gives the bat a natural pose, and the eyes can be either tiny beads or glass eyes.

This version is perfect for gifts and collections, as well as for those looking to hone their skills working with small soft toys.

Is it okay to sell plush bats made from this pattern?
Definitely! You’re free to sell your handmade plush bats as long as they’re crafted individually and not produced in bulk. We would be happy if you mentioned us when sharing your work online.

Yes, you can try different fabrics, but keep in mind the outcome might change. Each fabric behaves uniquely, so your plush could look quite different. If you enjoy experimenting and surprises, feel free to mix it up!

Absolutely! Just remember you’ll likely need to adjust details like eye size and pick an appropriate pile length for the fabric. This can give your bat a fresh look, different from the photos shown here.

  1. Great read,The article is well organized and provides clear descriptions for the three different bat plushie patterns available.

If you’re new to sewing — don’t worry, these patterns are perfect for beginners. Just take your time, sew slowly and carefully, and make sure to pin or baste the pieces first so they stay in place. Try using soft, not-too-thick fabric — it’s easier to work with.

And most importantly — don’t be afraid to make mistakes, it’s all part of the process. You’ve got this!

  2. What a delightful roundup of bat plushie patterns!  I love how each one brings its own personality and level of detail — especially the use of wire for posing the wings. That adds such a lifelike quality that really elevates these from simple soft toys to fun, collectible, works of art.

I love how easy you’ve made it to customize with different fabrics and sizes — it really invites creativity and experimentation.

Quick question: have you tried using mohair or velvet for any of these patterns, and if so, how did it affect the final look or feel? I’d also love to hear which of the three is your personal favorite to make — or which one gets the most love from gift recipients!

Thanks for sharing such beautifully crafted resources — definitely bookmarking this for my next cozy weekend project!

    • Thank you so much for your lovely comment — it made my day!

I haven’t used velvet, just because I personally love fluffy bats, and velvet doesn’t quite give that soft, fuzzy look I like. But I have tried mohair for the biggest bat, and it turned out great! The texture is a bit different, of course, but still super cute — and it’s got that lovely soft feel in your hands, which makes it extra huggable.

I actually have two personal favorites — the very first tiny bat pattern and the big ginger-colored one. The big one is just so sweet and cuddly!
As for others, people seem to love all three, but the first tiny bat is definitely the current favorite — it’s winning hearts everywhere!

Thanks again for your kind words and support — it really means a lot!
