These free sewing patterns for cute animals bring together three of our favorite fleece projects in one place: a tiny gray mouse with enormous pink ears, a cheerful cat holding a little HUG? garland, and a white goose with bright orange feet. Each one has a completely different shape and personality, but all three are fun projects for anyone who enjoys making soft animals by hand.
Free Mouse Sewing Pattern
This little mouse is made from gray fleece with soft pink inner ears and a tiny pink nose. Its most recognizable features are the huge rounded ears and the long curved tail, which can be arranged beside or behind the finished toy.
The body has a simple upright shape, while the arms and feet are sewn separately. The added feet help the mouse stand more steadily, and the ears are left unstuffed so they stay soft and slightly cupped.

Free Cat Sewing Pattern
Our gray fleece cat is quite different from the mouse. The head, pointed ears, raised arms, body, and legs are all part of one main shape, so the silhouette stays wonderfully simple. Only the curved tail is made separately.
The little felt garland is what gives this cat its personality. Pink and cream flags spell out HUG?, followed by a bright heart. You can recreate this detail or leave the paws empty and make a more minimal version.

Free Goose Sewing Pattern
If you want something a little less expected, try the goose.
It is made from white fleece with an orange beak and matching orange legs and feet. The long neck gives the toy its unmistakable silhouette, while the soft wings sit separately against the sides of the body. Simple stitched feather lines add texture without making the design too busy.
I especially like the flat webbed feet. They make the goose look slightly funny and very handmade, which suits this design perfectly. Small changes in the eye or wing placement can also change the expression surprisingly quickly.

FAQ
Are these patterns suitable for beginners?
They are all relatively approachable fleece projects, but they offer slightly different challenges. The cat has a particularly simple main body shape because the head, ears, arms, body, and legs are combined into one piece. The mouse has more separate small parts, while the goose includes details such as wings and webbed legs.
Can I sew these animals by hand?
Yes. A sewing machine makes the longer seams faster, but these projects can also be sewn by hand using small, secure stitches. The individual tutorials include more guidance for each toy.
Can I use another fabric?
Fleece is the easiest place to start because it is soft, forgiving, and does not fray. Short-pile plush or minky can also work for some of these patterns, although slippery fabrics may require more pinning and careful sewing.
Can I make the patterns larger or smaller?
Yes. Resize all the pieces belonging to one pattern by exactly the same percentage. Keep in mind that very small pieces, especially narrow tails, feet, or legs, become more difficult to turn.
