Materials You Will Need

You can customize this project in many ways depending on the fabrics you love. Soft minky creates a cuddly look, cotton gives more structure, and mixing textures can make it even more interesting.

  • Minky fabric
  • Contrasting cotton for the inner ears and wings
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Matching thread
  • Sewing needle or sewing machine
  • Scissors
  • Pins or clips
  • Glass or bead eyes approximately 10-12 mm in diameter
  • A piece of fleece or felt fabric for the nose
  • Optional joint for the head

Sewing Instructions

Start by sewing all darts, these are marked in green on the pattern pieces. This step shapes the head and body properly, so it is important not to skip it.

Next, sew the main parts together. Stitch the two body pieces, the two head pieces, as well as the ears, feet, and wings. Try to align all edges neatly, especially on the smaller pieces.

Then turn all parts right side out. Fill the body, head, and feet with stuffing, but leave the ears and wings unstuffed so they stay soft and flat.

On the wings, after turning them right side out, sew two decorative lines to create the bat wing membrane effect. This small detail makes the finished plush look more defined and professional.

Insert the eyes and secure them well. Then attach the ears to the head.

You can either sew the head directly to the body or use a disc-and-cotter-pin joint if you want the head to be movable. In the second case, do not stuff the body and attach the head first.

Finally, attach the feet and wings to the body using a hidden stitch for a clean, finished look.
